This Privacy Policy explains what information the Prata Lang app ("Prata Lang", "we", "us") collects
when you learn Swedish, Japanese or Korean with it, how we use it, and the choices you have. Prata Lang is operated by

Information we collect
Account — your email address, used to sign in with a one-time code (no password).
Learning progress — completed lessons, vocabulary you mark learned, spaced-repetition
review schedules, quiz results, streaks, XP, levels and achievements.
Subscription status — whether you have an active Prata Lang Pro subscription (managed by
Apple and our subscription provider; we do not receive or store your payment-card details).
App preferences — interface language, theme, and your daily-reminder time. The daily
reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server.
Voice conversations — when you use a live voice tutor or scenario, your microphone audio
is streamed in real time to our speech provider to power the conversation. We do not record or store this audio.
We do save a written transcript of the conversation to your account, so you can read it back and
so the tutor can continue where you left off. You can delete any transcript from the Speak tab at any time.
Data kept only on your device — if you try lessons before creating an account, that
progress is stored on the phone alone and never sent to us until you sign up, at which point it is added to your
new account. Downloaded lesson and article audio is also cached on the device; clearing it in Profile removes it.
Text conversations — messages you type to the AI coach are sent to our AI provider through
our server to generate replies.
How we use it
To provide the lessons, vocabulary trainer, reviews, reading, and voice/text practice.
To save and sync your progress across sessions and devices.
To unlock paid content for active subscribers.
To send the optional daily practice reminder you choose to enable.
We do not show ads, and we do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We share limited data with providers that operate parts of the app on our behalf:
Supabase — authentication, database and audio storage (your account and progress).
Apple & RevenueCat — processing and managing subscriptions.
ElevenLabs — text-to-speech and the real-time voice conversations.
Anthropic (Claude) — generating the AI coach's text replies.
Pexels — stock images shown with reading articles.
Resend — delivering the sign-in code and link to your email address.
Cloudflare — domain, and forwarding mail sent to our support address.
Expo — app delivery and on-device notifications.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account and progress until you ask us to delete them. To delete your account and associated
data, email hello@pratalang.com from your registered address and
we will remove it within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or California CCPA), you may have the right to
access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at the
email above to exercise these rights.
Children
Prata Lang is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required), and we do not knowingly collect their
data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material
changes, provide notice in the app.
